Polish Presidency of the V4: 1 July 2012 - 30 June 2013

The protection of the cultural heritage of the Central European region is one of the basic objectives in front of the countries cooperating within the Visegrad Group. The Ministers of Culture of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland meet each year in order to identify the existing problems in the cultural sector and jointly develop solutions.

Between 11 and 14 June 2013, the International Cultural Centre in Krakow hosted the meeting of the V4 Ministers. Aside from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland, Bogdan Zdrojewski, the meeting was attended by: Alena Hanakova - The Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic, Marek Mad’aric - the Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic and Andras Doncsev - the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Human Resources of the Republic of Hungary. The Ministers got to know the results of the V4 expert conference „Building the Cultural Potential - Digitalization and Sharing the Cultural Heritage”, organised by the Polish Ministry of Culture and the National Audiovisual Institute in Warsaw in February 2013. The meeting culminated with the Ministers signing a joint communication on cultural cooperation among the V4 countries in the years to follow.
